Ingredients
1cup (2 sticks)unsalted butter cold
1cupgranulated sugar
1cuplight or dark brown sugar
1Tablespoonpure vanilla
2large whole eggs cold
3cups all purpose flour
1teaspoonsalt
1teaspoonbaking soda
1/2 teaspoonbaking powder
2cupssemi sweet chocolate chips (1/2 cup reserved for pressing chips on top of cookies if desired).
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 375 degrees and prep a cookie sheet with parchment paper. Set aside.
In a mixer fitted with a paddle attachment, whip up the butter until it's light and fluffy. Add in the sugars and cream together for 2 minutes.
Add in the vanilla and eggs and whip up again. Scrape down the sides of the bowl.
In a separate medium bowl, whisk together the flour, salt, baking powder, and baking soda.
Add in the dry ingredients into the stand mixer and mix together until it barely comes together. Add in the chocolate chips (reserve a few to press on the cookies). *You can press the chips on the cookies before or after baking. It's not essential but makes them look pretty! :) Scoop the dough into cookie dough balls (I used a 2 T scoop)Space the cookies about 3 inches apart on the baking sheet, and bake for 8-9 minutes until just barely baked through. Let cool on a baking rack. Enjoy!
