It’s time to get super sticky with these darling spider web cupcakes! With a web made with ONE simple ingredient, your Halloween spooks won’t know whether to devour these tasty little treats or carefully tiptoe away. I love being able to decorate my cupcakes with something that’s not only darling, but super tasty, too. Double win! Grab your gloves and let’s make some fun spider’s web cupcakes, my little pretties!

  1. To make these fun Halloween cupcakes, start off with some cute polka dot cupcake liners, and fill them with your favorite white cake recipe tinted purple. I used a combination of purple and black to make a more spooky dark color.
  2. Next, I frosted the cupcake with grey buttercream in a Wilton 1M piping tip. Make a tall swirl, then place in the freezer for 10 minutes to harden. You’ll need them to be hardened to cover with marshmallow without destroying them.
  3. For the marshmallow webs, place 1 cup of mini marshmallows in the microwave for 15 seconds. With gloves on (or you don’t have to like I did in my video – its just gets super messy, haha). Stretch the marshmallows a little bit until a web forms, then wrap the web around the cupcakes.
  4. Place a fondant spider on top (to make the fondant spider, roll a small ball, then a larger one, then add on little 8 legs). I made my spiders the day before and let them harden.
  5. Enjoy them the day you make them! They store fine, but aren’t as web-like, more goopy-like.

And that’s it! Super easy, and super darling. I love making a web-like dessert every year. Here’s a little video of the assembly process:

Hope you have fun! Tag me in your photos if you make them, I love to see your creations! #bakingwithblondie or @bakingwithblondie.
