Ingredients for chocolate cake mix sprinkle cookies
The biggest plus to making these cookies is that it truly uses THREE ingredients in the cookies themselves, and then you roll the cookie dough in Valentine’s sprinkles! Easy peasy!
Here’s what you’ll need:
- Eggs – room temperature, large
- Vegetable oil – I’ve tried these with melted butter and it didn’t work, so stick with the oil for this one
- Chocolate Cake Mix – I used Duncan Hines Dark Chocolate Fudge
- Valentine’s Day Sprinkles – Use Nonpareils or something similar
The directions are below with the instructions.
Where to find these Valentine’s day sprinkles?
I used these Valentine’s Day nonpareils from Wilton, but you can use anything similar.
Variants for Different Holidays:
You could also switch them out with rainbow sprinkles for St. Patrick’s Day, Red/White/Blue for 4th of July, or Red/Green for Christmas! These could fit any holiday with just a simple sprinkle switch.
Here’s a video of the process:
Hope you enjoy these quick and easy little cuties as much as we did! I’d love to see it – make sure to tag me @bakingwithblondie or #bakingwithblondie so I can join in on all the fun!
Happy baking!

Ingredients
- 2 whole eggs
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 1 15.25oz Dark Chocolate Fudge Cake Mix , I prefer the taste and texture of Duncan Hines, but anything you find similar should be fine
- 1-2 cups Valentine's Nonpareils , small sphere sprinkles
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Prep a cookie sheet with parchment paper and set aside.
- In the bowl of a stand mixer, mix together the eggs and vegetable oil, then sift in the cake mix. Mix together until just combined. It will be soft.
- Pour the sprinkles into a bowl or plate. Using a small 1" (or similar) cookie scoop, then roll the cookie into the sprinkles until the sphere is covered. Place onto the cookie sheet. Repeat.
- Bake for 8 minutes, then let sit on the cookie sheet for 2 minutes. You want to err on the side of under-baked so they remain nice and chewy. Enjoy!
